Power Factor Correction and the KVAR Energy Controller (KEC)

Power factor correction (PFC) is the process of adjusting the characteristics of electric loads in order to improve power factor so that it is closer to unity (1).Power factor correction may be applied either by an electrical power transmission utility to improve the stability and efficiency of the transmission network; or, correction may be installed by individual electrical customers to reduce the costs charged to them by their electricity supplier. A high power factor is generally desirable in a transmission system to reduce transmission losses and improve voltage regulation at the load.

The significance of power factor lies in the fact that utility companies supply customers with volt-amperes, but bill them for watts. Power factors below 1.0 require a utility to generate more than the minimum volt-amperes necessary to supply the real power (watts). This increases generation and transmission costs.

It is often possible to adjust the power factor of a system to very near unity. This practice is known as power factor correction and it is achieved by switching in or out banks of inductors or capacitors.

The KVAR Energy Controller (KEC) is an electromagnetic control system that reduces the amount of non-productive current in your existing electrical system. It helps to significantly reduce electrical costs and pollution from energy generated by the utility companies.

The KVAR unit fine tunes the electrical system from the inductive load equipment back through the utility company's KVA electric meter, kilowatt hour meter or demand meter. This fine tuning slows down the operation of the electric meter thus saving you money.

Energy efficiency is a commitment worth making, especially with today's global climate change. Become more earth friendly while reaping the financial savings from using the KVAR KEC.

Save up to 25% on your electric bill while helping to save the environment.

This includes homes, shopping centers, strip centers, manufacturing facilities; everyone with a power meter is a customer. We call this the energy company's cash register. We have hundreds of testimonials and happy customers.

The KEC is designed to provide:power-factor-correction

  • Significant savings on electric bills
  • Increased life of electrical motors and appliances through heat reduction
  • Surge protection for the entire home or facility
Customers using the KEC have realized savings of 8% to 10% on their home or small business monthly power bills.

Using methods employed at large industrial complexes, now reduced to a compact unit; the KEC reclaims and recycles electrical energy. It fine-tunes the electrical system in your home or office resulting in less heat generation and reduced amperage resulting in reduced consumption of electricity. It causes less waste of electrical energy while increasing the life of the inductive equipment in your home or office. It protects against power surges and increases the capacity to the electrical panel by making it run cooler. All this means extra $$$ in your pocket.

Features:Power correction

  • Electrical Noise Reduction
  • Power Factor Optimization
  • Voltage Regulation
POWER SUPPLIERS benefit by being able to supply power to more customers without the generation or acquisition of additional power. This reduces capital expenditures by leveraging the existing infrastructure.
