A DIELECTRIC STRENGTH TESTER PROVIDES A HIGH VOLTAGE TEST IN ORDER TO CHECK THE QUALITY OR SOME CURRENT LIMITS DEFINED IN THE INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS
This high voltage test (also called dielectric strength test, hipot test, hi-pot test, breakdown test or flash test) is made to stress the device under test to an AC or DC high voltage and check that there is no breakdown nor perforation happening. It also checks that insulation distances and distances in the air are respected.

This type of configuration can be chosen with any transformer.

SafeCheck Manufacturing Hipot Tester
Ideal for improving productivity and efficiency in low to medium volume testing
Developed specifically to offer some of the productivity and efficiency benefits associated with sophisticated high-end equipment.
Unlike typical in-service PAT testers, this Hipot tester offers the correct flash/hipot test to meet the CE and international requirments for routine product testing during manufacturing. In-service PAT testers have the test output limited making them unable to meet this legislatory requirement for use in routine production line testing. SafeTest Manufacturing can be used as a simple manual tester or with varying degrees of automatic test sequencing and performs earth bond, insulation resistance, flash/hipot, leakage, short-to-line and run/load tests.
Easy to operate with via full QWERTY keypad and or barcode scanner, and includes full on screen user instructions. The new SafeTest hipot tester has been designed to meet the needs of manufacturers that require a range of fundamental safety tests to be carried out on a variety of electrical and electronic products.
All tests are individually user selectable and an internal memory has the capacity to store the results of 6,000 tests. The new tester also comes with an optional safety label printer that enables the automatic production of test tags, labels and test reports. Clever use of the optional barcode scanner for product identification and tester configuration, enables this product to be integrated easily into a typcial ISO quality control system.
